Each child had the opportunity to raise money for sports relief by doing a sponsored walk. We made a route around the field for the children to complete their walk. Spanish Bulls did a 5 mile walk and reception completed a 3 mile walk. The children all understood that they were contributing to a greater cause and showed resilience and determination. Some children in Spanish Bulls felt challenged towards the end but chose to carry on even when they were feeling tired. Their attitude was very positive and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all. They encouraged each other and worked together to complete the walk.
Spanish Bulls completed a sponsored skip last week to raise money for the British heart foundation. We were able to create a fun, sporting environment with banners and flags. Each child could take part in various skipping activities and choose to challenge themselves and try something new. Children loved skipping together using a long skipping rope and all enjoyed taking part in the event.
“I loved being able to try and skip because I haven’t done it before.’’ Mathew.
“I enjoyed learning new tricks and beating my skipping record!’’ Jago.
“I like being able to skip with two of my friends at the same time and skip as a group.’’ Phoebe.
It is not just the children who have taken part in sporting events. In May 2016, the staff team took part in a local "It's a Knockout" style event to raise money for the Heart of Kent Hospice. We even made it into the local paper !
