For the past two years we have held a winter sports day. This has been an opportunity for the children to try some winter sports such as hockey and encourage them to take part in various activities. All the activities have been winter themed such as ice ball relay, snow ball spoon race and ice skating relay. The support from Sports Funding has meant that we can provide a range of exciting sports equipment to facilitate a mixture of activities. The children have thoroughly enjoyed it and their attitude to sport has become more positive each year.
The summer sports day has been a real highlight over the past two years. Children have looked forward to it each year and thoroughly enjoyed taking part. They have learnt to work as a team and developed a good attitude towards winning and loosing. The ability to encourage each other has grown tremendously through the various sporting activities. This year we added an additional race, the sack race and children absolutely loved it! The sports day was Olympic themed with banners and international flags hung all around the field. Each class walked out to their National Anthem carrying their flag.
“The sack race was my favourite because it was new and exciting, we have never done it before. “ Seth
This event also has a great impact on the parents and toddlers as they enjoy getting involved with the races and thoroughly enjoy the vibe.
“It was such a great atmosphere and each year just keeps getting better!” Parent
