This funding is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. Schools receive this funding based on the number of pupils in year one to year six. The funding goes directly to primary school Headteachers so that they can decide how best to use it to provide sporting activities for pupils. This is to enable schools to up-skill teachers to improve the quality of sport lessons and provide more opportunities for pupils to take part in inter-school competitions and offer more after-school clubs.
