  • Year 3 & 4 Handball Tournament

    Fri 22 Apr 2022

Jubilee Primary School took part in the Year 3 & 4 handball tournament at Greenfields School, Maidstone. The team, comprised of five Years 3s and four Year 4s, took to the courts and played some lovely handball matches. Jubilee didn't win a game, but we showed some excellent teamwork, integrity, sportsmanship and determination. After every game, they were straight over to the other team to shake hands and congratulate them on their win. The children's behaviour was impeccable and they were a real credit to our school. The day was made even better with the fantastic sunshine we had; it certainly helped the children enjoy it even more. A special mention must go to Jude, who was awarded JPS sportsman of the tournament. We were very impressed with Jude's sportsmanship and quick feet, which enabled him to get through formidable defences. Well done again to team JPS.

  • Inter-house Sport Competitions

    Wed 09 Feb 2022

From the 1st to the 4th February, Years 1 through to 6 took part in the first Jubilee Primary School Intra school tournament.

The children at JPS have learnt a variety of skills this term, culminating in a tournament where the children could use their PE skills during a competitive match. Not only were the children trying to work together in their hockey, handball and dodgeball tournaments, but they were also trying to demonstrate sportsmanship and portrayed our ethos throughout their games.

The children who were chosen for this accolade had shown kindness, supportiveness, selflessness and good sportsmanship that you would expect to see from a sports leader. The school are very proud of how all the teams played and how they encouraged each other. Well done to all the children who took part.

  • Y2 Pirate Day

    Mon 13 Dec 2021

Italian Ibex had a swashbuckling day as we travelled back hundreds of years to when pirates ruled the seas. The children started off the day solving their final clue to lead them to the class treasure that was taken from them back at the beginning of term 1.

After this, the children took part in a series of science experiments looking at if they would sink or if they would float. The children made predictions around each material before it was tested. The children also looked and surface area and buoyancy. Each pair were given either a piece of clay or play dough and were tasked with transforming it into a ship. They then had to make their vessel float and predict how much mass each ship could hold. The children had lots of fun exploring this.

At the end of the day, the children enjoyed the treasure and popcorn that they had won for their 100% reading in the past term. It was truly an arrrgghhhhmazing day, and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

  • Hockey Tournament

    Fri 26 Nov 2021

Jubilee Primary School took part in their first, face-to-face competition on Thursday 25th November! Greenfields and Kent Teach held a lower key stage 2 and upper key stage 2 hockey tournament. Mixed teams from Years 3 and 4 and 5 and 6, went head to head against other locals schools.

Lower key stage 2 battled it out on the hockey pitch throughout the morning, showing wonderful determination and perseverance, resulting in them coming in joint second place! Due to scores being tied, the place was decided on goals scored, with Jubilee Primary School scoring just one less and therefore being given 3rd place in the whole tournament!

There were multiple schools participating in the afternoon meaning two tournaments ran simultaneously. Umpires were very complimentary of Jubilee Primary School, highlighting how supportive they were of other teams and cheering them on. Well done!

  • Monday 8th March 2021

    Fri 05 Mar 2021

We are looking forward to welcoming all those children who have been learning remotely, back to school on Monday 8 March so we have everyone together again for face to face learning. We are taking exceptional measures to make our school as safe as can be and we ask all parents to read through the reopening plan that has been sent out as it details all of our arrangements.

  • Updated School Closure

    Tue 05 Jan 2021
Following the latest Government restrictions outlined on 4th January, Jubilee Primary School is now closed and only open for children of key workers and vulnerable children.
  • Music

    Fri 11 Dec 2020

Year 6 pupils have been learning how to tune and play a stringed instrument – the ukelele. The skill of tuning an instrument is quite challenging, but over time our children have become quite efficient with this task. Over the weeks, the children have been learning strumming techniques as well as three simple chords: the C chord, F chord, and the G7 Chord. The children have nearly mastered these and we are beginning to play our first song.

  • Year 6 - Ancient Greece

    Thu 19 Nov 2020

On our immersive Ancient Greece day, we designed and made Greek pots. We looked at the changes in Greek pots over the years; from the Dark Ages through to the Classical Period. Whilst making the Greek pots, we encountered some problems with handles falling off because they were not sturdy enough and so we had to adapt them on the spot ready to paint black and gold another day.

In Ancient Greek drama, all of the actors were men. One actor would play several characters and so they wore masks to show who they were playing at that time, as well as the emotion that they were trying to portray. The masks had exaggerated facial features so that everyone in the audience could clearly see how the character was feeling, even those sitting in the back row. Can you tell which emotion Harrison's mask is showing?

We tried different Greek foods; pitta bread, tzatziki, feta cheese, figs, dates and olives. Pheobe said that her favourite Greek food was the figs because they were sweet but she did not like the texture very much. Elijah said that the olives were very bitter.

  • Harvest Celebrations

    Fri 02 Oct 2020

Year 4 put on an amazing virtual performance for our Harvest celebrations. The main theme was being grateful and how, more so than ever, we are grateful for the wonderful world around us.  The virtual performance was enjoyed by parents and children of JPS and incorporated Year 4's own version of the song ‘What a wonderful world’ by Louis Armstrong.

Well done Brazilian Parrots, an excellent performance.
