  • Dog visit to Spanish Bulls - 19th October 2018

    Fri 19 Oct 2018

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed having a dog visit on the last day of term to conclude their topic of paws, claws and whiskers. The owner visited the school with her two dogs and demonstrated some of the skills and tricks that the dogs could do and explained how to look after them. The children thought of questions to ask to extend their knowledge of dogs and watched how the dogs interacted and cooperated with the owner. They also saw how the dogs persevered to do different tricks which linked into our Jubilee University focus. This was a very enjoyable and memorable experience for the children.

  • African Elephants Immersive Day - 21st September 2018

    Wed 03 Oct 2018

On Friday 21st September, African Elephants experienced an Anglo Saxon and Viking immersive morning. We learned about the art of sword fighting and how the Anglo Saxons and Vikings formed their warriors into an army. We then looked at how the Anglo Saxons and Vikings spent their time and we tried our hand at making butter, flour [from grinding seed], making sparks by rubbing flints together and playing board games. It was an amazing experience and really brought our topic to life.
