  • Football Tournament - Thursday 22nd November 2018

    Mon 26 Nov 2018

Today we went to Greenfields Primary School for a KS1 Football Tournament. We took 5 year 1 and 5 year 2 pupils, some of which had never played in a Tournament before! Every child gave every ounce of energy and effort that they had despite the freezing temperatures. The children showed perseverance and courage whilst playing against teams who were older than them and we even won one of our games!

Well done to all of the children involved – Zara, Antonio, Levi, Mia, Fraser (Y1) Billy, Joel, Calista, Troy, Rose (Y2).

  • Children in Need - 16th November 2018

    Tue 20 Nov 2018

Friday 16th November was BBC Children in Need. To support this superb charity the children dressed up as what they would like to be when they are older. This supported the BBC theme of ‘Do your Thing’ as well as helping us to think about our future and the future of the children that the charity supports. Children discussed what they wanted to be when they are older and we had some amazing costumes - please see below for just a few! We learnt about the children that may be less fortunate than ourselves and how important it is that all children have a right to be safe, happy and be able to achieve everything that they are capable of. We raised a total of £124.24. We thank all of our families for helping us to support this charity.

  • Poetry Day - 9th November 2018

    Fri 09 Nov 2018

Jubilee Primary School celebrated poetry with a day of activities and a fantastic recital. In class, children examined language techniques as well as performance poetry giving them a better understanding of different forms of poetry, as well as discussing words and phrases that capture a reader’s imagination and interest. Children across the school then began our termly poetry recital by performing poems that they had learnt in class during Term One to the rest of the school.  We saw amazing performances from all classes, including a poem about beginning school from our confident reception class to a moving performance by African Elephants of ‘In Flanders Field’. Children across the school showed their skill in using expression, intonation and movement to fully entertain the engaged audience. The children explained their understanding of the poems they recited and the poetic techniques that they had learned, including the use of alliteration and onomatopoeia.
