  • Inclusive Football

    Thu 09 Apr 2020

At the start of March, a very enthusiastic team of Jubilee footballers took part in a fantastic tournament.  Hosted at K-Sport in Aylesford, the event attracted teams from all across Kent - and catered for a range of ages.

Jubilee's team faced each of their opponents with absolute determination and, after some very exciting games, managed a well-deserved win in their last match.  All of the children involved were a credit to the school - and worked well at encouraging each other to play to their best ability.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day - and the children left very tired and very happy.

  • Key Steps Gymnastics

    Tue 07 Apr 2020

During Term 3, a number of children undertook a trip to Aylesford School to compete in a gymnastics competition. On the day, they took part in the ‘heats and trials’ stage of the competition, which consisted of three spectate stages of gymnastic activities.

Initially, the children were asked to demonstrate their stretching abilities, with a number of different mat-based stretches. After this, the group was divided into smaller groups to undertake body control exercises. These exercises were performed in a small routine, as demonstrated by competition judges. Finally, everyone had the opportunity to use either a balancing beam or a gymnastics horse to complete the final stage of the events.

  • World Book Day

    Mon 23 Mar 2020

Children looked wonderful dressed in their animal costumes to celebrate World Book Day. Our theme of ‘Zeraffa Girafffa’ was well received and children enjoyed a day of cross curricular learning through the use of this book.

Children across the school explored themes such as geography, culture and migration. They wrote texts exploring different points of view as well as setting descriptions and animal descriptions, they also completed some wonderful artwork.

  • Bird Box

    Mon 16 Mar 2020

Following the success of the BirdBox project last year, we have signed up again to set up a live video stream to our very own bird box.  This is a great opportunity for us to watch live video of the birds that visit the nesting box and we are hoping that we will witness live footage of eggs hatching and chicks growing before they fledge and leave the nest.

We will be monitoring the progress of the birds during school and if you would like to watch from home, please click on this link.  Bird Box

  • Elmer

    Mon 24 Feb 2020

Jubilee Primary School will be participating in the Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Project. We will start by designing and creating our own baby Elmer.  This will then join a herd of other baby Elmers in Maidstone as part of Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade in support of Heart of Kent Hospice.  The parade will take place in Maidstone over the summer of 2020.

  • Table Cricket

    Thu 05 Dec 2019

On Thursday 5th December, 7 children from year 3 and 4 attended a Table Cricket event at Greenfields Community Primary School. None of us had played Table Cricket before so we were very nervous but excited! The team took part in a ‘match’ and won 82-64! Their behaviour and exemplary sportsmanship was credit to our school! Well done, team JPS!
