School Meals

Being Healthy

We want our children to grow into healthy individuals who are able to grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. We are committed to promoting well-being and safety. The school is part of the Fruit and Veg for Schools Scheme which provides every child with a piece of fruit or a vegetable snack every day for their mid-morning break.  All children are encouraged to stay hydrated throughout the school day.

School Meals

All our children enjoy a hot meal and our staff are encouraged to eat with the children in order to model appropriate behaviours, supporting the correct use of cutlery and encouraging conversation. From September 2014, all infant children became eligible for a free school lunch under the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals program aimed at promoting healthy eating choices amongst our youngest learners. This means that under this new legislation, every child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will not have to pay for their daily meals in school, charges will be applied once they reach the junior phase, Year 3 and beyond.

Please advise the school of any dietary requirements on admission and at any time of diagnosis.

Recipes

Our catering company, CH&CO Education regularly send us a selection of recipes to try at home. Here are a few of our favourites.

From the Kitchen

Please see recent editions of ‘From the Kitchen’ , a newsletter from our catering company. They provide plenty of information on up and coming campaigns, thoughts, and recipe ideas.
