Wrap Around Care Facilities

Aims

At Jubilee Primary School Breakfast and After School Club we aim to provide a safe, secure and relaxed environment that offers a range of activities to reflect the interests of the children in our care. We aim to deliver new experiences, strengthen friendships and build lasting memories that support the development of all children who attend.

What we offer

Breakfast Club operates between 7.40am and 8.30am. Children are able to enjoy a healthy buffet breakfast in a relaxed environment, and engage in a range of activities with their friends.

After School Club runs from the end of the school day until 6.00pm and offers children a range of activities, including role play, outdoor sports, various crafts, board games, construction, physical play, cookery, and a quiet time for reading and homework. The children are expected to participate in all aspects of the club, preparing snacks, tidying up and supporting each other, where appropriate, in order to develop independence. The children will be given access to indoor and outdoor play, subject to weather conditions, seasonal time adjustments, etc., so please ensure they bring appropriate outdoor clothing.

We follow healthy eating guidelines and provide a buffet of healthy snacks using fresh fruit and vegetables. Fresh drinking water is available at all times. We attempt to meet individual dietary requirements wherever possible. The food we provide at the Club is not intended as a substitute for a main evening meal.

Staffing

Jubilee Breakfast and After School Clubs are staffed by our Positive Play Workers: Mrs Rupa Ghosh, Mrs Lek Salter and Mrs Caroline Harewood.

All of our staff have experience of working with children and undertake professional development training. All staff members are DBS checked. Staffing ratios are in-line with best practice recommendations.

If you have a query or concern at any time, please speak to a member of staff at the club. For more serious issues, please contact the school office to arrange a time with a senior member of staff.

Club Bookings

We aim to ensure that the club is accessible to children and families from all year groups within Jubilee Primary School.  You must ensure that you book your place at the Breakfast Club and After School Club via the My Child At School (MCAS) App. We are unable to offer places to pupils who turn up without a booking having been made, as we may not have sufficient staffing to accommodate them, so to avoid disappointment please ensure that your child holds a valid booking.

Opening Hours and Payment of Fees

Breakfast Club: operates during term-time only from 7:40am to 8:30am.

After School Club: operates during term-time only from the end of the school day until 6pm.

All fees are detailed on the MCAS App

Neither clubs operate when the school is closed, including school holidays, bank holidays, inset days and school closures due to inclement weather or other circumstances beyond school control.

Employer childcare vouchers are accepted. Please contact clubs@jubileeprimaryschool.org.uk for further details on payment by childcare vouchers.

Changes to Days and Cancelling your Place

Changes to booked sessions can be made on the MCAS App.

Induction

During your child’s first session, time will be set aside for an induction. This will include running through the Club's rules and routines and introducing your child to the staff and other children.

Another child will usually be allocated to act as your child's buddy for the first few sessions.

Arrivals and Departures

At the Breakfast Club, our staff escort children to their class teacher at 8.30am. For After School Club Our staff collect children at the end of their school day and escort them to the Club. A register is taken when children arrive in our care.

We expect that your child will normally be collected by the people you have named on their authorised collection list. If you need a different person to collect your child on a particular day, you must notify us in advance. We will not release your child into the care of a person unknown to us without your authorisation.

The After School club finishes at 6.00pm and parents/carers should ensure they are available to pick their children up at this time, taking into account heavy traffic, busy periods, etc. Some children can become anxious or distressed when parents are late, as all other children are leaving. Staff also have commitments beyond 6pm, so it is imperative that you arrive on time. Should there be any delays, you must call the After School Club mobile phone by 5.30pm by the latest, so that alternative arrangements can be made. If parents are continually late, the school may no longer be able to offer after school provision. A late payment fee of £15 may be charged to make a contribution towards any extra staff wages and transport costs incurred.
